Powering Ubisoft's Champions Tactics with Twentysix Cloud
During the first edition of the Serverless BXL conference hosted at Ethereum’s largest community event, EthCC, Ubisoft announced Twentysix Cloud as the decentralized cloud service provider for its new Web3-native game, Champions Tactics. The game will leverage Web3 infrastructure supported by HOME Verse and Twentysix Cloud. It is the studio’s first original Web3 game, developed with NFTs front and center.
Champions TacticsTM Grimoria Chronicles is a game where strategy, creativity, and dark fantasy unite in a captivating multiplayer tactical experience Players can assemble a team of mythical Champions, engage in thrilling tactical battles against other players, and discover the legends of the dark and mystical world of Grimoria. Champions Tactics launched the Warlords, their first PFP collection of 9,999 unique digital collectibles. With over 170 unique traits, including armor, weapons, headgear, and more, each Warlord is truly one-of-a-kind. Each Warlord provides exclusive early access to the Champions drop.
Their second collection, “The Champions,” is coming soon and the allowlist, called the “Dark List” will give players the possibility to mint 3 Champions for free on their upcoming mint on the 18th of July. Champions Tactics is built on HOME Verse a blockchain certified by Oasys, developed and operated by double jump.tokyo Inc, while the data and in-game assets are underpinned by Twentysix Cloud's Aleph.im network. This collaboration offers a seamless Web3 gaming experience for global player communities.
“At Ubisoft, we used aleph.im solutions since we released our Ubisoft Quartz platform to secure the storage of all our NFT metadata because it is very easy to use and especially it avoids having to maintain infrastructure to store this metadata. This is why we decided to also use it for our upcoming game Champions Tactics, in which we will store more advanced gameplay metadata and we will also use the new feature called aleph.im VRF to do a fair mint of our initial set of champions,”

Twentysix Cloud's decentralized computing network, Aleph.im, offers a suite of services that include Oasys L1 and HOME Verse L2 indexers as well as a VRF Solution for generating verifiable random numbers, and a custom oracle for integrating external data sources. These tools ensure a fair, transparent, and scalable gaming experience.
L2 indexers streamline the processing and organization of blockchain data, ensuring swift and smooth interaction within the gaming ecosystem. “Verifiable Random Function” VRF introduces a robust mechanism for generating verifiable random numbers within games, bolstering transparency and fairness in gameplay. This novel technology will be leveraged in the upcoming Champions Release & Mint.

Ubisoft has been running its own Core Channel Node, UbiStratLab on Twentysix Cloud since 2021. This node validates and manages the network and provides storage resources to help decentralized applications and protocols become fully decentralized.
